Wow, is it race season already??  For many of you, your race season is well underway.  Whether you toughed it out in the cold, wet weather at the Natchez Trace Duathlon or tried to beat Mother Nature to the finish line at the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon…you are officially underway.  Others will be kicking off their season at the Gulf Coast Triathlon or the 1st Annual Knoxville Rev3 or are just a few weeks away from the ACME Multisports Memphis in May Triathlon.  And if you haven’t put together your race schedule yet or feel a little behind in your base training…..well, it’s our little secret.

Things at the store have been busy to say the least.  Thanks to a long list of loyal customers, a ton of referrals, a committed staff at the store and a passionate race team, 2010 has started out as our best year yet!  A few exciting happenings to get you up to speed:

Wil Emery has been promoted to Store Manager and with his knowledge, expertise and long-term commitment to the success of ACME is a driving force behind our recent success.  Wil is responsible for day-to-day store management, product and vendor management, staffing and most importantly….taking care of you, our customer!  In his free time (huh?), you will find Wil putting in some long training hours as he focuses on his third visit to the Ironman World Championships in Kona this fall.  Don’t hesitate to call Wil in the store or by email at we@acmemultisports.com. (Note, Wil won the Rev3 half-tri in Knoxville yesterday...awesome job Wil!)

Allen Curtis made a commitment to work in the store with Wil on a full-time basis in February of this year.  Allen spends the majority of his time working with customers on custom orders, managing our Elite race team, coordinating sponsorship deals with race management partners and facilitating our volunteer/support crew at local (and not-so-local races).  Look for Allen and the ACME Tailgate Tour at races all across the Southeast this summer.  You may even find him suiting up and toeing the line at some of those races this year!

Wil and Allen have been working hard to bring in the newest and best products for our customers in the off-season.  We have added many great products to our store…..come check out the new K-Swiss line of triathlon shoes, Oakley Sunglasses, and Rider Sandals (recently voted the #1 recovery sandal by Runner’s Magazine).

*We made the decision this year to support a few races at a much larger level.  We have officially been named the title sponsor of both the Memphis in May Triathlon, as well as the Music City Triathlon!  This is very exciting for us and for our race team.  We encourage all of you to join us at both of these great events!

*Our unbelievable friends and loyal customers allowed us to partner with four of our great vendors to run their booths at the recent Country Music Marathon Expo.  This is no easy task.  We had over 25 volunteers work 4 and 8 hour shifts to support the store and our vendors:  K-Swiss, Oakley Sunglasses, Pearl Izumi and Rider Sandals.  Thanks to all of those that were willing to volunteer your time, we couldn’t have done it without you!

*Have you looked around the new website?  Check it out and let us know your thoughts… www.acmemultisports.com .  Thanks to good friend Eric Jackson for his work on this as well as our Facebook Fan Page and Twitter presence.  If you haven’t friended, followed, tagged, pinged or bookmarked us, what are you waiting for??
