Currently, Wil manages ACME Multisports in Nashville, the only full service triathlon store in Tennessee. He loves the fact that he gets paid for talking about triathlon, wheels, bikes, shoes, running gait, swim form, you name it!

Wil was first introduced to triathlon while working at a physical therapy clinic by his boss, Keith Putman. Formerly a collegiate and professional soccer player, he was up for the challenge. From his first triathlon-with borrowed bike (!)-he was hooked.

While Wil considers training to be fun, he loves racing. And not just the small, hometown triathlon, but especially the big championship races with all the big names of the sport. True to form, Wil will be starting his racing calendar with the Rev3 Half Marathon in Knoxville in May. Additionally, Wil has already qualified for the 2010 Ironman World Championships in Kona-his third trip to Kona. Big names, look out. Here comes Wil!

During the first half of the year, Wil will focus on shorter races with the hopes of building speed and strength for the fall. Wil spent much time over the winter working on his swim and can already tell he has improved-both in confidence and strength.

Away from triathlon, Wil enjoys time with his wife, Leslie, a true “keeper” who considers their yearly trip to Kona a vacation, and watching sports like soccer and cycling. And being a Nashvillian, of course, he has opinions on music.

When in Nashville, visit Wil at ACME Multisports and be sure to say hello to Rocco, the Italian greyhound.
